What products can women access at the Period Friendly Point?

All Period Friendly Points have free tampons, sanitary towels, spare pants, wipes and disposable bags. There are also leaflets with advice and how to access more support. Some Period Friendly Points have pregnancy and infection tests available.

Where can you find a Period Friendly Point?

There are currently Period Friendly Points in Glasgow and Edinburgh with plans to expand to other cities across Scotland.

What is a Period Friendly Pax?

The Period Friendly Pax is a small, discreet bag that contains enough period essential products for 48 hours protection, including: tampons, towels, wipes, spare pants and compact disposal bags. They are carried by the Simon Community and Streetwork outreach teams and can be given to women who need them. Read more here…

Why is the Simon Community launching this initiative?

One of the biggest challenges women who are homeless face is their period – they cannot afford sanitary products and don’t have access to facilities to keep themselves clean. We want to give women a ‘period of dignity’ – by providing products and a safe, clean environment to take care of themselves. Read more here…
