I can confirm that Simon Community Scotland endorsed a state of housing crisis being recognised. We sincerely hope that this will bring urgent and systemic change.
Our Edinburgh Street Team and Support Hub on Holyrood Road are in the frontline of this crisis and I want to take an opportunity to publicly thank our teams for the exceptional energy, empathy, care and support that they provide every day.
To give you an idea of the emergency we are facing; just 3-months ago our Edinburgh Support Hub would provide 400-450 supports a week to people experiencing homelessness.
Recently, our team have been providing 700-750 supports per week to people who are rough sleeping, in temporary accommodation, sofa surfing … people who are desperate for a safe place to access support … people who are desperate to find a safe place to call home.
This is an emergency. We are stretched and urgently need donations to help us keep people experiencing homelessness as safe and supported as possible.
Our Edinburgh Hub is open 7-days a week. No appointment is necessary and our aim is to be a one-stop shop were people can access all kinds of support, including; benefits advice, legal advice, healthcare, tenancy sustainment, housing support, wound care, harm reduction advice, digital inclusion, food, a warm cup of tea and a safe place to talk to professional staff. We also do so much more. Find out more about our work across Edinburgh HERE
People we support need a safe place TODAY, please support us to respond NOW, whilst we work with partners to deliver more.

Everyone deserves a safe place to live and access to the support they need.
If you agree with this, please share our appeal and donate if you can.
