Edinburgh, Scotland's capital city, is a place that thousands of tourists every year. Yet for anyone who is homeless or at risk of homelessness, it is a hard place to be. Too many people do not have a safe place to live.

The availability of accommodation in Edinburgh does not match what people need. We are doing everything we can to help change this because everybody deserves a safe place to live and access to the support they need.

The Simon Community has been supporting people Edinburgh since 2019. This is when Streetwork joined the Simon Community. At the time, we kept this name for our Edinburgh services, because it is so well recognised in the city. But it can be misleading! We do have a Street Team, but we also provide an extensive range of other services so people get the support they need.

In Edinburgh we offer a wide range of information, support, care, advice and accommodation. Our Support Hub and Streetreads Library are located in Edinburgh, and it has been the birthplace of our innovative SCS Homes and Housing First collaboration.

Everything we do starts with the people we're here for. We work closely with a range of local partners so we can make a difference and influence wider change.

Read on to learn about the things we are doing in Edinburgh to help people find safe places to be and get access to the support they need.
