Simon Community Scotland (SCS) introduced the Period Friendly Project in 2017 supported by volunteers across Glasgow, surrounding areas and Edinburgh. Provision of PFPs addresses the issue of period poverty affecting many women in Scotland. Period poverty contributes to the poor mental health and wellbeing experience of many women who are excluded from the basic essential of sanitary and hygiene products. SCS aim is to increase the number of PFP across Scotland in order to combat period poverty.
