Nina Lomas was a registered Social Worker with over 35 years of experience. She qualified in England, working generically, before specialising in Psychiatric Social Work. She moved to Scotland and continued to work generically. She advanced to become a Senior Social Worker in the State Hospital at Carstairs Junction.  Nina then became a specialist manager in mental  health  within a local authority. She remained with the local authority, progressing to the position of Fieldwork Group Manager. She was responsible for 90 staff and the operational management and provision of service to adults until her retirement in 2014. Nina was invited to join the Streetwork board prior to them joining Simon Community Scotland, and then became a ‘legacy’ trustee on the Board.
