Community Outreach

We visit people in their own homes and provide support in Edinburgh and North Lanarkshire so people can live independently, with confidence.

Maintianing a home

The teams provide support to people in their own homes, helping to maintain tenancies and prevent homelessness. Many people who have experienced the trauma of homelessness, or the risk of homelessness, face huge challenges in maintaining tenancies.

By providing support, our team can help people grow in confidence and enjoy their home.

Supporting people into a home is not the end of our work

Many of the people we work with will need support for years. For others, it could be lifelong. So our Outreach team can check in on people when they need support, or just to be a friendly face to see how they’re doing.

Similarly, we can work with people to prevent homelessness. If we know people might be at risk of losing their home, we can help them to maintain it and move forward.

Trust and relationships are key. We listen, we learn and we support. The support of our outreach teams changes on a daily basis, we tailor our support to suit each individual. One person might need a TV or a fridge. Someone else might need help looking for a job, or signing up for a college course, or with their benefits and finances. We listen, we learn and we support in whatever way we can.
