Clinical Psychologist (2 roles – East & West)

REPORTS TO: Strategic Lead West/East
BASED:   Operations
SALARY:£45,000 – £55,000 per annum
HOURS:(FTE based on a 37.5hr week)

We have created two exciting opportunities for Clinical Psychologists to join us in Edinburgh and Glasgow in reshaping the experiences, the outcomes and the opportunities for people experiencing homelessness.

Many of the people we support have complex lives and histories, often with previous and repeat trauma. We are looking for clinical psychologists to join our teams to remodel our service response and help shape better outcomes for people. This is a unique opportunity to fundamentally reshape the way services operate. Over the last 5 years we have been shaping a trauma informed response and we’re now wanting to go further in building a team approach around a psychological model, developing knowledge, skills and pathway to implement and create evidence based practice.

In Edinburgh our focus is on people rough sleeping or in temporary accommodation whom services find difficult to engage with and where solutions are not easily found. Frequently referred to as people with multiple and complex needs, often their reality has been shaped by trauma and years of exclusion and detachment. We want to change that and create a high tolerance model of engagement that creates long term effective multiagency relationships.

In Glasgow we work with a large group of women who have unique needs, strengths, vulnerabilities and risks. We want to redesign services with the women to more fully address the harms they are exposed to and opportunities to escape a circle of homelessness, violence and abuse.

In both cases we expect the postholder to be embedded fully into the local teams, to lead on the development of a model of practice, to train and support the teams and provide clinical leadership. We will be recruiting Assistant Psychologists to assist in the delivery of the approach and also to identify and gather data to provide meaningful evidence for service delivery and change.
