The Simon Community Scotland (SCS) Managed Alcohol Programme (MAP) launches in Glasgow in 2021 and is the first of its kind in Scotland and across the EU. The MAP is a truly collaborative multidisciplinary project with our colleagues in Glasgow Addiction Recovery services and has secured three years of investment. This will be a registered Housing Support Service which will be groundbreaking in many aspects of its service delivery! We are looking for people who go the extra mile as excellence and innovation will be at the heart of everyday delivery of this service.

We will launch the new service in an exceptional “PIE” inspired boutique hotel styled building. This project cuts across sectors and has ambition to deliver transformational change in the lives of alcohol dependent homeless men.

Our MAP expert advisory group consists of exceptional leaders in relevant specialist fields. Our partners in Canada have provided evidence of what works and a decade of research demonstrating the potential impact of MAP’s in Scotland and this international community of practice will continue.

Our innovative approach has already attracted followers and supporters particularly those seeking excellence across Europe. Partnerships with sector leaders in Portugal, Norway, Italy, and Poland have evolved. We have a transnational European MAP support network developing. This exciting coalition including Canadian services have ambitious plans for collaboration.

We are seeking exceptional people with professional experience and SCS particularly value’s those in recovery and would welcome applications from those with lived experience. Understanding of issues around trauma, substance misuse, rough sleeping, homelessness and harm reduction theory particularly around alcohol use would be an advantage.
