Simon Community Scotland today launched the start of its 50th anniversary, by hosting a media event at the Glasgow outlet of a bicycle recycling workshop, which has been providing service users the opportunity to build their own bike, learn news skills and develop their self-confidence.
This video – with recordings and pictures – was created by four people who use our services. They tell us a bit about their journey and the challenges they overcame.

I quickly learned if I shouted louder and fought better that would keep people away – I didn’t want people to see the real me. I was quite popular and had lots of friends but wasn’t close to anyone. I felt alone. I was always up in arms against the world.
