About us

We are a homelessness charity in Scotland, dedicated to meeting people where they are.

This means that whether you’re homeless or at risk of homelessness, we’re here to help, no matter what the road you’re on looks like.

We make no exceptions to who we can support and we want to help you not only find a safe, reliable, home but ensure that the causes of your homelessness are tackled at the root too.

We’re not here to tell people how to live their lives, we’re simply here to help them start to live a safe, comfortable life.

What we believe in

Vision & Values

Our vision is for everyone to feel safe in the place where they live. We support adults and young people who are experiencing homelessness, or are at risk of homelessness, by providing them with whatever they need – whether this is support in retaining a tenancy, or providing shelter.

Inclusion & Participation

Whether you’re a full-time member of staff, one of our volunteers, or a person we support, you are a part of the Simon Community Scotland team. This means you help to guide our approach, your thoughts and feelings on us matter to us and we want you to be part of the ongoing collaboration that is Simon Community Scotland.

Warmth & Regard

No matter your circumstances, we are here to help you. We do not judge, we do not limit the support you receive based on your lifestyle, we just meet you where you are. When you come to Simon Community Scotland for support, you will always be treated with the respect and kindness that you deserve.

Support & Ambition

When you learn about our services and programmes, you will learn that we are committed to not only supporting people through homelessness but to live full, enjoyable lives too. We believe that homelessness must be tackled at the root cause – not just on a surface level. From there, we can ensure that the individual causes have less opportunity to occur again.

Our People

Our people are at the centre of everything that we do. We have worked hard to ensure that our approach is always people-centred and that means an individual approach to each person that we support. Our staff are fully trained, trauma-informed and some of them have experienced homelessness and their first-hand experience guides our approach.

We work positively with others to deliver a truly inclusive and personalised approach, improve our response and add value to the experience of the people we support.

We encourage and support ambition, building on strengths to foster hope for the people we support and deliver growth and development for staff and volunteers.

Our locations
