We’re proud of the work of our teams and the impact they have and delighted that over the past 8 years this work has been recognised with 19 awards and 2 commendations. A reflection of just how amazing our people are, we know that already, but it’s great to have it recognised by others.


Awards demonstrate the life changing outcomes for the people we support
rThe awards highlight the creative and values driven delivery of services and the impact of our teams, staff and volunteers, in tackling the causes and consequences of homelessness. Almost without exception these award are driven by partnership working, a desire to improve outcomes for people and a recognition of how frontline staff and volunteers deliver life changing, sometimes life saving interventions every day.

Scottish Charity Awards
Category - Partnership of the Year
We were delighted to be an award recipient with colleagues at Survivors of Human Trafficking in Scotland (SOHTIS). This innovative partnership committed to reducing human trafficking in Edinburgh and has resulted in transformational change for some of the city’s most vulnerable people.
Scottish Social Enterprise Awards
Category - Health and Social Care organisation of the Year
We’ve been making huge strides forward in delivering a trauma informed approach that is supported by inhouse Clinical psychology providing direction, training and reflective practice to continually improve the way we connect and support people who face many challenges in their lives.
UK Social Enterprise Awards
Category - Health and Social Care organisation of the Year
Having won the Scottish category we were automatically nominated for the UK awards along with our 4 nations partners in London and ended the night as the category winner. An early Christmas present we were delighted to receive.
2023
Digital Health and Care Award
Category - Digital Inclusion Award
Simon Community Scotland were the first winner of this new category for our work with partners AND Digital and Digital Lifelines to develop and deliver a harm reduction app designed by women for women, reducing harms and the risk of drug deaths in Scotland.
Scottish Charity Awards
Category - Digital Citizen
Our digital harm reduction app, By My Side picked up its second award. Recognised for the work with women to share the look, design and content of the app through a gendered lens. The app provides information, advice, connections and safety features.
Scottish Social Services Awards
Category - Excellence in Adults Services
Our Relationship First service in Edinburgh picked up the award for its work with people who are most excluded from services and where services struggle to engage with often chaotic lives. The team demonstrated the ability to stick with people and have life transforming
2022
European Social Services Awards
Category - Service Delivery Award
Our Glasgow multiagency Access Hub won the service delivery award. A psychologically designed and safe place connecting with over 80 people a day experiencing homelessness. The service was described as a game changer for homelessness in Glasgow.
Scottish Charity Awards
Category - Pioneering Project
The Access Hub picked up it’s second award in a year. A unique space, psychologically designed and services trauma informed it has delivered a huge impact in reducing homelessness, improving health and providing safety and support.
Scottish Social Services Awards
Category Showcasing an Integrated Workforce
Our third award for The Access Hub Glasgow supporting over 25 partner organisations in working together in a purposeful psychologically safe environment connecting with people every day but crucially working collaboratively to find solutions to complex issues.
Herald Digital Awards
Category Best Use of Technology in the Third Sector - Commendation
Our Get Connected project works with organisations across Scotland in supporting people who are homeless to be digitally connected, providing devices, mobile data, training and support so people can be online safely and use digital to best effect.
Scottish Charity Awards
Category - Climate Conscious - Commendation
Our Street Cycles project received a commendation. The project is volunteer driven and works with our street teams in Edinburgh and Glasgow to reach people further away and quicker using bikes navigate the city's streets.

European Social Services Awards
Category - Excellence
Overall winner of the ESSA Awards for work innovative and high impact work undertaken during covid responding to people rough sleeping and creating solution to connect people with safe services and accommodation, effectively ending rough sleeping in Scotland during covid.
Scottish Charity Awards
Category - Charity of the year
Winner of Scotland prestigious Charity of the Year award for outstanding work and innovation in responding to people with complex lives experiencing homelessness in Scotland. A huge recognition of the impact of staff and volunteers delivering trauma informed care with compassion.
Scottish Charity Awards
Category - Demonstrating Digital
Awarded for innovative use of Doppler Radar technology to detect and warn of an overdose in services. First of its kind the project was designed to prevent drug deaths in homeless services.

CEO Lorraine McGtath recognised for her leadership in at the helm of Simon Community Scotland, strategic work with CCPS and her influence in shaping policy with people at the heart at a national level.
