Period Friendly Project
Enabling a period of dignity for people experiencing homelessness.

Providing free period products since 2017

Period equality
We work collaboratively with Glasgow City Council to ensure that everyone has access to period products that ensure periods with dignity as we believe no one should have to worry if they have enough money to buy period products. We have period points throughout Glasgow, in women’s, men’s and accessible bathrooms our period products are stocked by our volunteers on a regular basis.
Improving reproductive, physical and mental health
This collaborative partnership not only alleviates the burden of period poverty but also fosters an environment where menstruation is normalised and openly discussed, reducing stigma and encouraging conversations about reproductive health. Across the city we have points with a wide range of sanitary products including reusable period pants and cups.
Providing these products can help combat the stigma surrounding menstruation, fostering more open conversations about reproductive health. Ultimately, this initiative not only supports physical health but also contributes to a more inclusive and equitable society, where everyone can participate fully without the barrier of menstrual insecurity.

Making a real difference
Our incredible army of Simon Community volunteers have delivered thousands of Period Packs to people throughout the city. With the cost of living continuously increasing and people having to choose between basic essentials, these Packs provide a reprieve from another costly monthly bill.
