Street Change at Simon Community Scotland

Glasgow has the highest number of people experiencing homelessness in Scotland. So sadly, our help is really needed. In Glasgow we offer a wide range of information, support, care, advice and accommodation.

Our support in Glasgow started when volunteer members from The Simon Community in London came to Scotland in 1966. They came here to help a man called Danny, who they had supported in London. Danny now needed support back home in Glasgow and had nowhere else to turn. So together they set up the first 'Simon House', with volunteers living alongside residents.

The support we offer today is true to our roots – we place personal, one-to-one relationships with people we support at the heart of all we do. We tailor what we offer to what each person needs.

With the growing cost of living crisis, relationship breakdowns, the effects of trauma and migration, too many people don't have a safe place to live in the city or are worried about becoming homeless.

Read on to learn about the things we are doing in Glasgow to help people find safe places to be and get access to the support they need.
